Maps, Meetings & Mess-Making: Building a united strategy department

This talk documents the internal work of building a cohesive strategy practice at Lullabot.
We started from a place where content strategy and UX existed as parallel but siloed disciplines. The work involved establishing shared vocabulary, consistent processes, and a foundation for collaboration that didn't require starting from scratch on every project.
It's a talk for anyone who does the cross-functional connective work and wants a framework for making it visible, sustainable, and reproducible — not just for the team, but for the organization. The title says it all: the path from chaos to clarity involves a lot of maps, a lot of meetings, and a willingness to sit in the mess long enough to make something useful out of it.
